Fun and Fit Families Program
Our summer and fall programming focuses on getting families outside on our county's trails, lakes, and parks to recreate together. Join us to discover our natural resources while having fun with your family. All activities will include a healthy snack. See below for individual activity details. Please RSVP when possible. When you attend activities (playgroups count), you earn chances to win prizes at the fall finale. Save the date for our Fun and Fit Finale at Crex Meadows with prizes on October 13th.
We will have playgroups every Monday and Thursday at 10:00 am. Caregivers and their children can come for play, activities, projects and a snack . No RSVP necessary.

Thanksgiving Family Fun Night
Join us on November 15 at 5:00pm at the FRC. We will have Thanksgiving themed activities and snacks. Please RSVP.
Summer Wellness Challenge (June 1 - August 31)Congratulations to all the youth who participated in the summer wellness challenge. Prizes will be awarded at the Fun and Fit Finale on October 13 (don't need to be present to win).
Lil' Chefs (is back)
You must pre-register for Lil' Chefs. Join us with your kiddos for cooking at the FRC.

Fun and Fit Fall Finale and Crex Wildlife Festival
Our summer and fall programming will culminate with our annual finale held at the Crex Meadows Visitor Center on October 13 from 10-1 (prizes will be drawn at 12:30, you must be present to win). If you participated in FRC activities, you will have tickets for chances to win prizes. If you participate in the days events, you can earn tickets. Join us for a fun and active day! Prizes will include sporting equipment, outdoor gear and games, camping equipment, swimming gear and more.
Healthy Families of Burnett County - Home Visitation
The FRC has home visiting program for families who are pregnant or have newborn babies. This free, weekly home visiting program will support you through your pregnancy and the early years of your baby's life. We will give you ways to make your home safer, information on how to care for your baby, facts regarding development, activities you can do with your baby, and much more. Home Visits/Parenting Classes
Someone from the FRC will visit you in your home, at the FRC, or a location of your choice for assistance with parenting, budgeting, discipline, or just someone to talk to. If you are interested or in need of support, please call us.
This program is a supervised visitation program for parents with custody or safety concerns.
We offer two playgroups a week - Mondays and Thursdays - from 10:00-11:30am at the FRC in Siren. Parents, guardians, daycare providers, or grandparents bring your children to play, do crafts, and have a snack. You can play with your children and chat and network with other adults. A great chance for your little one to play and socialize. Open to all ages.
****Note: During the warmer months we will meet at Crooked Lake Park in Siren.
Lil's Chefs will promote healthy eating and nutrition. Come to the FRC and cook with your children. Watch your children get excited about cooking as they wear their chef's hats and aprons. We hope to get them to try new foods. There will always be something to eat and sometimes food to take home. Occasionally families will be requested to bring cooking items from home (ie: pans, bowls, storage containers). The smaller children are welcome - they can play while we cook and there is always extra food. Please RSVP for this event so we can plan the food accordingly.
Arts and Crafts Night
We will have a monthly themed Arts and Crafts Night. All ages are welcome and snacks will be served. Check the "Upcoming Events" section for details on the monthly theme.
Family Fun Activities and Field Trips.
Join us for family fun activities during the month. Everyone is welcome to join us in fun activities that include the whole family. Past activities include holiday parties, pumpkin carving, sun and sand party, gardening night, pirates and princesses, Family Nature Day, kayaking, and much more. In the warmer months we try to get outside and meet at different areas in our county. Past trips have included Crex Meadows, Tammi's Wildlife Rescue, Pizza by the Pond, Fort Folle Avoine, apple orchards, fall outings, sledding, dairy farm tours, and more.
Come to the FRC for free, gently used baby clothes (newborn - 4T). Take what you need and give back when you can. Other miscellaneous items are available from time to time such as blankets, toys, books, winter gear, etc. Donations are also accepted but we request that they are not stained, ripped, or broken. We cannot accept cribs or car seats.
Bosom Buddies and Prenatal Breastfeeding Group
Bosom Buddies is a Breast Feeding Group led by a certified lactation counselor. We will meet every Wednesday at the FRC at 9:00am. Some topics to be covered will be going back to work , when and how to pump, sore nipples, mastitis, plugged ducts. On the first Thursday of every month at 5:00pm , we will host a prenatal breastfeeding group (please RSVP for the prenatal group).
Car Seat Safety
The FRC has a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician on staff! Please call to make an appointment to have your car seats inspected, fitted to your child, information on recalls, and help with installation. Please expect appointments to take at least 40 minutes and have children present if possible.
