Ongoing Programs

Healthy Families of Burnett County - Home Visitation

The FRC has home visiting program for families who are pregnant or have newborn babies. This free, weekly home visiting program will support you through your pregnancy and the early years of your baby's life. We will give you ways to make your home safer, information on how to care for your baby, facts regarding development, activities you can do with your baby, and much more. To learn more about this exciting program call the FRC.

Home Visits/Parenting Classes

Someone from the FRC will visit you in your home, at the FRC, or a location of your choice  for assistance with parenting, budgeting, discipline, or just someone to talk to. If you are interested or in need of support, please call us.

This program is a supervised visitation program for parents with custody or safety concerns.

We offer two playgroups a week - Mondays and Thursdays - from 10:00-11:30am at the FRC in Siren. Parents, guardians, daycare providers, or grandparents bring your children to play, do crafts, and have a snack. You can play with your children and chat and network with other adults. A great chance for your little one to play and socialize. Open to all ages.

****Note: During the warmer months we will meet at Crooked Lake Park in Siren.

Lil' Chefs

Lil's Chefs will promote healthy eating and nutrition. Come to the FRC and cook with your children. Watch your children get excited about cooking as they wear their chef's hats and aprons. We hope to get them to try new foods. There will always be something to eat and sometimes food to take home. Occasionally families will be requested to bring cooking items from home (ie: pans, bowls, storage containers). The smaller children are welcome - they can play while we cook and there is always extra food. Please RSVP for this event so we can plan the food accordingly.

Arts and Crafts Night

We will have a monthly themed Arts and Crafts Night. All ages are welcome and snacks will be served.  Check the "Upcoming Events" section for details on the monthly theme.

Family Fun Activities and Field Trips.

Join us for family fun activities during the month. Everyone is welcome to join us in fun activities that include the whole family. Past activities include holiday parties, pumpkin carving, sun and sand party, gardening night, pirates and princesses, and much more. In the warmer months we try to get outside and meet at different areas in our county. Past trips have included Crex Meadows, Tammi's Wildlife Rescue, Pizza by the Pond, Fort Folle Avoine, apple orchards, fall outings, sledding, dairy farm tours, and more.

Come to the FRC for free, gently used baby clothes (newborn - 4T). Take what you need and give back when you can. Other miscellaneous items are available from time to time such as blankets, toys, books, winter gear, etc. Donations are also accepted but we request that they are not stained, ripped, or broken. We cannot accept cribs or car seats

Bosom Buddies and Prenatal Breastfeeding Group

Please call to make an appointment to have your car seats inspected, fitted to your child, information on recalls,  and help with installation.
